Unity@Mobility

You don’t need to look too far back to see how far we’ve come in the fight for civil rights — just 50 years, actually.

In an era when discrimination was as common as it was legal, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 struck down the status quo. Though we celebrate the progress we’ve made in the last 50 years, one thing remains clear: we’re not done yet.

Defending our rights doesn’t stop at the end of the work day, especially when the most basic rights — like the right to vote — are being stripped away. Workers rights, civil rights, human rights — as union members, we stand at the forefront of the fight to protect and advance them.

CWA’s Human Rights Activists are a group within the union dedicated to continuing this fight. If these issues fire you up, add your voice and earn your Activist card.

There are just two months left until the important midterm elections. We can’t sit and watch as equal pay, women’s reproductive rights, workers rights, and more are being taken away.

It was unacceptable in 1964. Today, it’s an outrage.

If you’re ready to do something about it, here’s the outlet. Take that energy, that passion, and that experience and help make a difference in our fight for human rights in the workplace — and beyond.

The CWA’s Human Rights Activists are fighting for change, and need your voice with them. Become a member today and earn your membership card:

Unity@Mobility… Have you heard?

Local 3607 is continuing to hold classes for members to keep them inform about the benefits they have as union members and to know and understand their rights. These classes are eye openers for many of our members because they do not have a union background in their families.

The classes cover the history of the Union, some of the struggles we have had throughout the years and many organizations that we have and will continue to partner with in the future. Take a look at a few of the classes…
